Terms of Service

Welcome to Lunela. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Lunela (“Lunela”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Lunela mobile app and lunela.app (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who may use Lunela

Lunela is intended for parents and legal guardians (18 years or older) who set up and manage bedtime stories for the children in their care. Children do not create accounts or use Lunela on their own. By using the Service you confirm that you are the parent or guardian of any child whose information you enter, and that you consent to our processing of that information as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Lunela generates personalized, serialized bedtime stories using artificial intelligence, based on the child profile you provide (such as name, age, interests and any fears you choose to share). Each night the Service can create a new episode that continues an ongoing “world” with recurring characters, which you can read on screen or play as audio narration. Story content is generated automatically and is unique to your profile; we cannot guarantee any specific storyline, character, word count, or outcome.

3. Accounts & Sign in with Apple

You access Lunela by signing in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your device and Apple ID secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Subscriptions, free trial & billing

New accounts include a one-time free allowance of three (3) pilot stories, granted once per device. To continue with nightly stories, you may purchase a Starter, Plus or Premium subscription. Starter is offered monthly; Plus and Premium are offered monthly or annually. All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account, and are subject to Apple’s terms.

Subscriptions are measured in credits, which are allocated monthly and reset at the start of each billing month. One story costs one credit; a story narrated in HD costs two. You may also purchase one-off credit packs, which are consumable in-app purchases: they are delivered immediately, they do not renew, they do not expire while your account exists, and they are consumed as you use them. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and are not redeemable for money. Deleting your account forfeits any unused credits, whether allocated by a plan or bought as a pack.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in your App Store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may change over time; changes will not affect the period you have already paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store’s refund policy.
  • If your subscription lapses, your child’s existing world and unlocked episodes remain saved; you can resubscribe any time to continue.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, bypass usage limits, resell or redistribute generated content commercially, or submit content into profile fields intended to produce harmful, hateful, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate material. Lunela applies safety guardrails and content moderation, and we may suspend accounts that abuse the Service.

6. AI-generated content

Stories are produced by automated systems within age-appropriate safety controls. While we work hard to keep content gentle and suitable for bedtime, AI output can occasionally be imperfect or unexpected. You are responsible for reviewing content you share with your child, and we ask that you report anything concerning so we can improve. Generated stories are provided for your family’s personal, non-commercial enjoyment.

7. Intellectual property

The Lunela app, brand, design, and underlying software are owned by Lunela and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and to enjoy the stories generated for your family. You may not copy, sell, or commercially distribute the app or its content.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it, including information about your child. It forms part of these Terms.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Lunela is a source of calming entertainment and is not a substitute for professional, medical, psychological, or educational advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lunela will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
